Streamlining the Student Growth Objectives Process with an Integrated Student Information System
This session will include a discussion of a student growth objectives (SGO) software solution that saves times and reduces paperwork so districts can focus on the hard work of designing quality goals and tracking student data. Participants will learn how the tool permits teachers to enter SGOs on forms modeled after those created by the state. The screens accommodate simple or tiered goals, allow a choice of a scoring plan, and permit districts to manage approval electronically and track changes. SGOs can even be archived into a personal library that is maintained by a supervisor and curated according to district or school goals.

Transformational vs. Transactional Learning: Getting the Job Done
According to the dictionary, a transaction is “an occurrence in which [something] is passed from one person … to another.” A transformation is “a complete or major change in someone’s … appearance, form, etc.” State standards require a level of understanding and application that is made possible by transformational learning. Session articipants will learn about a learner-active, technology-infused classroom model, and hear how this work has transformed learning in the Randolph Township school district.
