Using Best Leadership Practices to Manage and Lead Educational Organizations
Throughout more than 25 years in school leadership, including 15 years as a high school principal and six years as a superintendent, Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District Superintendent Thomas A. Coleman Jr. has ventured outside the educational box, exploring leadership strategies from successful private sector companies such as the Walt Disney Company and Stephen Covey's Programs. A two-time attendee at Disney Leadership Training (most recently in December) and certified Disney Leader, he has successfully gleaned and implemented many strategies from these programs. This presentation will take these leadership principles from the private sector and show how they can be successfully implemented in educational settings. Says the presenter: I firmly believe we have much to learn from the successful leadership strategies in the private sector, and the successes I have enjoyed with organizations I have led are a testament to that.
